Star Gazer

I entered the room

and felt your absence

in the twilight, the eye,                                         full moon
drawn upon the roses
withering petals fallen
on the silver spoon,
the cup that touched your lips
know not of destiny.

Remembering is the thorn
of tenderness, same self joy
once felt turned to grief.

A place of color and grace
now tinged with emptiness,
vacant eyes search the sky
for the brilliant star
once held by your gaze
as I held you
in mine…
